I just watched this having never seen the first. This one is pretty good. While none of the deaths are as horrific as a certain one in saw III (probably a good thing), they do genuinely shock and some I think are quite memorable, if not entirely original. Definitely worth watching and enjoyable all the way through. I want one of those masks as well!!
Enough scares and gore to keep horror fans happy. - Reviewed on 2008-09-04

The first Boogeyman man film was creepy in places but could never be classed as an out an out horror. It was more a psychological thriller. Neither classification matters really as it was just boring and devoid of any real memorable moments.
Boogeyman 2 should have stood alone and been marketed as a standard stalk and slash film. Its links to the original are tenuous and having it as a sequel does it a disservice as it is much better than the original. It sticks rigidly to the template of this type of film; Horrific opening, slow introduction to the characters, deaths occur frequently and increase in nastiness and the final showdown between the villain and the sole survivor. What makes it better than the average is some original deaths and some genuine, edge of your seat, creepy moments.
The cast is mainly full of no name actors. The only famous one is Tobin Bell who will now forever be known as "Jigsaw" from the saw movies. Most of the performances are OK but they are not helped by some awful dialogue. At one point Tobin Bell states that someone is suffering from "Boogeyphobia"!! How he said this with a straight face I will never know. This is a good example of why the film should not have been titled "boogeyman 2" just to avoid ridiculous lines like this.
Overall this is a very enjoyable stalk and slash horror film. There are enough scares and plenty of gore to keep most horror fans satisfied.

Stuck this in the Dvd player, and made me Jump straight away... This is a good film, if you look Gorey film's this has some Gore in it, If you have watched Boogeyman this is nothing like the first one, this is much scarier... Get it, it's a great Horror, set inside a Hospital

This was a very watchable slasher film which had a nice mixture of gore and creepy bits and a easy to follow storyline. The legend that is Tobin Bell didn't have a massive part but the part he did play he did with ease and his voice is just brillant in this type of film. I enjoyed this more than the first film there are plenty of worse films out there this was very good not quite worth a slot in my DVD horror collection but I am glad I watched it.

I enjoyed the first boogeyman film and wanted to see this sequel and overall it was fairly good.I like Tobin Bell and he put in a good performence. The story was quite good and the scares where in the right places. There are better horror's out there but this is worth a watch.
