Short But Sweet Review;
Brilliant Game, Graphics and even plot line!
Only one thing wrong with this game, you need to keep saving every hour or so (if you play that long), otherwise this game has a tendency to freeze on you and you loose all progress so far.
This could just be my bad luck but other than this the game is really good.

The game sees Sonic travelling at sea to explore various islands. First, you use the DS's stylus to draw a route from your base to your destination. It is not always simple as you have to avoid hazards, such as rocks and shallow waters, and can only go a limited distance at one time.

The actually travelling consists of steering a boat with the stylus whilst collecting special items destroying enemies. I found this tough at times, especially as the enemies become more difficult when you get better ships.

Arriving at an island leads to a platforming level. Completion of a level rewards you with a material, which varies depending on the level, and you are able to upgrade your transport once you have collected the required number of different materials. It can be a bit tedious replaying the same island several times as it's the only one that offers your required material.

The levels are just as you'd expect from a Sonic game, fast-paced with various power-ups and obstacles. The end of stage bosses are not overly difficult once you've worked out how to defeat them, but there is the option of changing their difficulty setting.

The game was not much of a challenge to me, as I completed the main quest quite quickly. However, by talking to other characters on the island, you can unlock new missions, requiring you to replay levels, plus there are Time Attack and online challenges too.

Having enjoyed the early Sonic games, I found Sonic Rush Adventure fun to play through, but not something I'd go back to again and again.

I love, love, love this game.

As a huge fan of the original Sonic and having recently purchased my DS I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't think that this would live up to my expectations - how wrong I was.....It exceeds them and some!

If you love sonic or other quick moving platform games then you'll love this. Or if you just fancy something that you simply can't put down then give Sonic a chance.

Sonic Rush brought the fleet footed hedgehog's side scrolling adventures to the dual screen.

The 2nd installment in the Rush series, thankfully, keeps the good and adds some nice little extras into an already solid platform.

As in the previous Sonic DS title, style plays a big factor in this game. When sliding along rails, or leaping through the air, pressing buttons will allow Sonic and Blaze to strike stylish poses to fill your boost meter. This was tweaked ever so slightly this time around to make it much more fluid.

The level design is also made just a slight more intuitive. In Sonic Rush, the feeling of old school Sonic blazing through the levels was brought back to life in a big way. Rush Adventure pretty much does the exact same thing, just removes a couple of floor spikes, causing the action to flow at top speed pretty much the entire time.

Without a doubt the largest change from Rush to Rush Adventure is the 3D gameplay. To get from level to level, Sonic and friends have to travel via jetski (you will unlock different crafts throughout the game.) Using primarily the stylus, you'll collect rings and take down enemies on your way to your chosen destination. Honestly, I've found that sometimes this is enjoyable and sometimes I want to just skip past it, luckly you can but it dosent detract from the game.

The cast of characters is what has become the typical cheesy Sonic fare. The storyline is no different.I long for the days of old where Sonic would just show up, run around bashing enemies, flip the sign, and move on.

As far as replayability, the main storyline pretty much requires it. You'll need to go through levels multiple times in order to obtain the parts required to upgrade to better vehicles. Because there are so many ways to race through any given level, it really doesn't get old. After all, a misplaced jump could either send you flying into a bottomless pit or drop you to some path which you didn't even know existed.

Adventure is notably easier than its predecessor. Much the same as New Super Mario Brothers, you could quickly find yourself with an overabundance of extra lives.

While Sonic Rush Adventure may not turn into a Nintendo DS classic, it is definitely a solid purchase and worth the price.

This game is brilliant! I got this game for Christmas this year and I really recommend it. It's the best game I have on DS by far. It's amazing how they have combined 2D graphics with 3D graphics to make a great game. The boss stages are really good but what is also good is the fact you have to sail to each island you go to on a boat. It makes the game better and makes real use of the DS touch capabilities. It's overall a really good game - I really suggest you buy it!
