I thought this film was brilliant. Mixed with excellent humor, and a non-predictable ending. Every actor did a great job with their part. I think this was more about her finding and accepting herself, than her stealing her brothers wife. So I was very happy with the ending and the film. I highly recommend this film. Its a good laugh

After watching this film, I have absolutely no idea what the point was!

Heather graham plays a girl (Gray) who's best friend is her brother - they live together, they go out together etc. After they are mistaken for a couple, they decide that it is time they found a girlfriend/ boyfriend for each other.
Gray meets a girl called Charlie, who she thinks is perfect for her brother, so introduces them, and within 24 hours they are engaged!
They set the date for the wedding for 2 weeks time, and off they go to get married.
Gray and Charlie have a sort of hen night together the night before the wedding, and share a drunken kiss.
Gray is confused and thinks that she might be gay, but the wedding goes ahead, and Charlie marries Gray's brother.
Gray then tries to decide whether she is gay or not, and decides to tell her brother that she is in love with his wife.
This obviously doesn't go down well, and he asks Gray to move out of the apartment. Later he has a change of heart and decides to forgive Gray, but accidentally outs her in front of all her colleges where she works.

Unfortunately that is the entire story, and what could have been a brilliant romantic comedy, is actually pretty dire! When the film ended I was shocked that that was it!
In the beginning Gray and her brother are ballroom dancing - this is never revisited or explained, after the kiss Charlie plays a very small role and Gray never actually admits her feelings to her, the brother kicks Gray out, then forgives her with absolutely no explanation, and the film ends with Gray still alone, and no more confident about her sexuality. I'm afraid this is one for the bin.
Don't bother!

I really can't fathom it out, but I can warn any lesbian viewers in search of a nice cosy night in with a groovy DVD to AVOID THIS FILM! It's truly appalling, so much so that I've given it 2 stars for so-bad-it's-almost-funny cringe value.
To confirm what other reviewers have said, the lead character, Gray, is totally lacking in credibility. Perhaps she imagines herself as a cutprice Goldie Hawn only without Goldie's acting ability. or charisma. or timing.
It's not credible enough to be a gay film, not well-acted enough to be a good mainstream rom-com, and has no sex scenes so will diappoint sleazier viewers. Which is why I ask - who is it for?
This film made me angry - Reviewed on 2007-12-31

I have never seen a film so astonishingly bad. The whole thing is a total disaster. We are expected to believe that the brother and his fiance decide to get married after 6 days of knowing eachother, and that everyone gets along so fabulously that Gray and the fiance decided to take a bath together again, 6 days after they first meet....then we are expected to believe that in a city as vast as NYC, Gray happens to get the same cab driver twice in 1 week and that she trusts him well enough to spill her entire life story to him and go with him to his apartment. As if all of that was not bad enough, we are expected to believe all of this through the fog of some of the worst dialogue ever commited to film. It really really makes me angry that people have invested time and money in something so breathtakingly awful, and nobody stops to say 'hold on, this is terrible..lets just not make this disaster of a film'. I'm not a gay person, but if I were I think I would find the film offensive rather than positve for the gay rights movement. No offense to the other reviewers, but anyone that gave this more than 1 star probably also thinks that 'maid in Manhattan' should be an oscar contender. The only redeeming feature of this film is that it's worth seeing just to see how disgustingly bad one film can be.

I've seen worse but definitely seen better movies than this. It is unbelievably cheesy and some of the lines just made me cringe. I suppose if you like chic flicks this might be right up your alley. There's just no magic and the end is a bit 'in the air'. I felt the best bit of acting was from the cabby who befriends Gray and tries to help her on her road of self discovery and also her therapist... both of whom are actually funny.
