A gem! - Reviewed on 2008-04-09

Mr Lee manages to travel through an entire album without hitting one correct note, his sense of timing is missing, his choice of song is hilarious. His version of High Noon is magnificent as he throws in a cowboy drawl only adding to the hilarity - a true gem of an album! It's great that celebrities are still able to assume that success in one format gives them automatic success in another. This allows us the opportunity to watch, listen, read and laugh at their expense. Those associated with this album may well have thought they had hit rock bottom being involved in this album - but no! Hold your heads high that you were involved in the creation of a gem!

This is either a work of utter genius or the worst album i've ever heard - it's not quite The Transformed Man by William Shatner, but almost. The metal version of the Toreador March and the unintentionally hilarious intro are worth the purchase alone.

Any song from this album could have made number one in Kenny Everett's famous chart, as well as numbers 2,3,4,5,etc. Mr.Lee is still on top form, giving his unique interpretation of such classics as: 'O sole Mio', 'My Way', 'High Noon' and 'The Impossible Dream'. If you're purchasing this for the festive season in particular, you will thouroughly enjoy his renditions of 'Silent Night'(sung alongside his equally talented daughter) and 'The Little Drummer Boy'. I particularly favour his individual melodic and rhythmic delivery of 'The Toredor March' which appears twice on this album, once as a Latino style salsa, but also as a 'Metal Mix' complete with authentic heavy guitar rock sound. The final track is a 22 minute soliloquy in which Mr.Lee talks of his musically talented forbears and the superior vocal skills that he has gentically inherited. The fact that he chose not to take the advice of Jussi Bjorling (the world renowned tenor), to become an actor rather than an opera singer, is a mystery to me. This cd never leaves my current playlist and I can't wait for the follow up. Christopher Lee still rocks at 84!
