a funny gay gross out film, it has a heart... - Reviewed on 2008-12-30
Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ 4 out of 5

Films like american pie and other "gross out" comedies have gay gays as the butt of the joke cause they're made for the str8 auidence; this however, is the all gay version that we've been waiting for. As four "OUT" college guys deal with sum of the sensitive issuses around being gay and wanting sex such as; jerkin off, improvised sex toys, dick size, roles(top/bottom), and sexual fantasies in unsutle, full frontal detail in the pursute of the ultimate goal "THE BIG A".

There is a luv story that keeps ur attention, between 2 of the guys. the acting is credible as Griff, a nerd and Jarod, the jock and self confested "power top" with size issues tackle obstacles like first time nerves and rival men as they fumble their way into each other arms; the bar scene where Griff dances on top of the bar to attract Jarod's attention away frm a rival is one of the many stand out highlights! As this film uses sterotyping like its str8 cousins there is some delibrate overactting but it doesnt feel forcd and all the cast perform well.

This is not a coming of age story, or a deeply meaningful film were the stars just pout, mournfully at the camera (reconsidering their career options probably...)like most films made for the gay audience. Its fun and not a chore to watch!!

A.G.M is a gay gross out comedy with a heart, something that american pie and its many str8 and gay clones lack.

The story runs well, and I laughed out loud throughout the film. Treats gay "coming out" with sympathy without loosing 'the plot'. Keeps the viewer guessing until the erotic end scenes. Don't take it seriously - enjoy!

I really couldn't recommend this film to anyone, not even anyone of the gay population. The jokes are crude and only gained a couple of laughs through the whole film. It's the kind of movie that makes straight people think that is how every gay person acts, and that is wholly untrue. Considering I am in the target audience for this film (19 and gay) it failed in drawing me in to watch it all the way to the end, although I did. Yes it's light-hearted and over the top, which is what it's meant to be, but I can still think of many other gay films that are much much better than this.

I started laughing within the first few seconds and didn't stop laughing until the credits came. It may not be everyones cup of tea, but it certainly is mine. Toilet humor. Crude. Over the top. Gay gay gay! I only wish that I was seeing this for the first time.

Loved every minute of it, outrageous, irreverent, and plays the stereotypes to destruction, I just hope that any stray homophobes realise it is not a true story :)
