For North American fans of the show - Reviewed on 2008-11-24

This is a Great show. Think of Mad Max meets Lord Of The Flies. Don't let the costumes, hair colors and makeup fool you. This show somehow pulls you in and makes you care about the characters and the world there now living in. For every teen that thought the world would be a better place without adults and think they could do a better job, think again. This is the world of THE TRIBE. How long could you live off tinned food (caned food) before you would have to organize farms? How would you get kids to work on a farm? Do you pay them? If so, with what? Or do you use kids as slaves? Who do you go to when you get sick? What to you do when all the antibiotics run out? All these and more are things that come up in the 5 seasons, 260 episodes of THE TRIBE.

The bad news is this was never released in a USA DVD format (NTSC) and it never will be. I got all 5 of my box sets from right here. They shipped them from the UK right to my door here in USA with no problems. Don't worry to much about them being in PAL format. Many of the big box mart stores sell DVD players that will play both PAL and NTSC formats for around $40 US. Most of the time it will tell you on the outside box or you can ask to look at the owners manual and it will be listed on the specifications page.

If your from North America and sitting on the fence waiting for a USA DVD format you can forget it. It's not going to happen. There were only so many copies of THE TRIBE produced and when there gone there gone. Do some footwork and I guarantee you'll find a player at a box mart store near you that will play both PAL and NTSC format. Then come back here and get all 5 seasons. You'll never forgive yourself if you don't.

ive loved the tribe since i was like 10 when it was on channel 5 back in the day :P i forget all about it for like 4 years and one day i saw the spin off 'a whole new world' i watched it and it was really tame so i thought id buy the tribe to see if it was as gritty as i rembered or weather i was jsut a 10 year old thinking it was (it wasnt my 10 year old mind)
I brought and the first thing that hit me was how bad the acting was !! but after that itotally became hooked i find my self loving the 'badys' like Lex and Ebony and realy dispising Trudy and Thai-San ( not sure she is in this season or the next).
I love how simple the main story ( the entire adult race wiped out by and anti-aging virus)
JUST BUY IT or search it on You tube and watch some clips then buy it
Its AWSOME !!!

this is by far the best series of the tribe.
the story is of a virus that wipes out all
the adults thus leaving all the teenagers and children to fend for themselves.the costumes that each character adapts are all unique and reflects their personality.there are 16 main characters in this series. in my opinion the series got slightly off footing after series 3 but thats totally up to every individual to judge.either way i would recommend the entire series. remember this is only my view.make up your own conclusions.

I love The Tribe! Everyone should definitely watch it because it is great! This is my favourite series because it is where it all begins and all the original charaters are there.

I absolutley love The Tribe! I caught onto it during the 3rd season on WAM!. About halfway through the series though, my cable company changed their lineup & alas WAM! was no longer one of the free channels. You had to have digital cable to get the channel. So, sadly, The Tribe was lost to me for 2 seasons. Now, I can go back to where it all started & catch up on all the things that I missed out on. It is a little strange, seeing all the characters SO young when I am able to see how they've grown in series 5 (I got WAM! back now that I have IO). If you love the series & came into it during a later season as I have, I highly recommend buying this set to catch up with.
