Since purchasing this game, its all i have played. The conversion is superb. I was put off by the rumors of fiddly controls but i got straight into it no probs at all. Its quite simply is THE BEST version of Streetfighter....... EVER, by far the greatest beat em up i've ever played with lots of different modes to keep you interested. Fans of the others get this game or if you want the best beat em up.. this is the one to get!!! Great Stuff

Fun, challenging and visually more impressive than any Street Fighter before it, the PSP version of Alpha 3 also boasts a slew of play modes and multi-player options exclusive to the hand-held, as well as a few new characters (albeit lifted from SNK).

Yes, the controls are iffy. When it comes to pulling off a fire-ball or dragon punch - or even just jumping backwards - the PSP's d-pad isn't perfect. Then again, neither was the Playstation's. When I first played the PSP version, I was expecting a couple of hours of frustration while I got to grips with the controls, but after pulling off a hurricane kick at the first time of asking, I realised it wasn't nearly as bad as previous reviewers have made out. If you're a veteran of the Playstation versions of the games, then it should take you little to no time to get the hang of it.

The only other real down side is the endings, but let's face it, they were always shoddy.

Most importantly, nothing beats Street Fighter for wiling away a long journey, or even just a few minutes at the bus stop.

Although this game certainly _looks_ the part, I'm afraid the whole experience is let-down by the PSP's control system. Neither the PSP's d-pad nor it's analogue stick work well with Street Figher Alpha and I found myself struggling to pull-off essential moves, such as dragon-punches and fire-balls. I'm certainly no SF n00b, I've been playing this game since it was first released in the arcade. The PSP's d-pad layout and spacing just DOES NOT offer the accuracy in control needed to make SF enjoyable.

This has to be one of the worst conversions I've played as far as "feel" and controlability are concerned. Such a shame, because it looks great!

You would be wise to consider that SF *DEPENDS* on an accurate control system to enable you to pull-off it's intricate joystick combinations. Unfortunately their is next to zero control in this PSP version
