Sex and the City managed, over its six-season run, to become something of an icon. It's one of those programs that???s passed into pop culture; the show that launched a thousand personality tests, each asking whom you identify with most: prim and proper Charlotte, career girl Miranda, man-hungry Samantha, or introspective (but always impeccably dressed) columnist Carrie Bradshaw.

The cast isn???t as truly an ensemble as, say, Friends; Carrie is the main focus, with Sarah Jessica Parker's notoriously outrageous wardrobe tending to draw as much attention as the plot of the episode. Funny without being farcical, Sex and the City was also touching and aspirational. Unashamedly girly, the series created a kind of modern fantasy: four friends, each with her own distinct personality, finding her way around the battlefield of life and love in New York City. Though Sex and the City sparked controversy over whether it represented a new age of feminism, or, conversely, was deeply traditional or even damaging, it was always undeniably entertaining nonetheless.

This shoebox style boxset contains all the episodes (and costs considerably less than a pair of Manolo Blahniks) and so is ideal for catching up, ready for the hotly rumoured movie version. -- Sarah Dobbs

SATC is more than just a show, it's a feeling! My husband bought me this box set for Xmas as he hates the show so much he wanted me to be able to watch it when he was out, but now I just watch it on TV and DVD as well. I love all the series in different ways, but especially the last when they finally wrap up the loose ends and the characters are all so fantastic, especially Harry for Charlotte and Smith for Samantha. Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!!!!

An absolute must-buy! I went from being a 'casual watcher' of the series to watching the episodes virtually back to back once having received this boxset for Christmas. A great series put together in a relatively compact box which helps you keep all of the episodes together. Without a doubt, one of the best presents I have received, as the episodes have long-term appeal - On a rainy day, there is nothing better than relaxing at home watching Sex and the City - Love it!

ok, now buy this and watch then go see the film, you will laugh, cry and laugh again and maybe poop your pants! ps. don't forget to go with a flask full of cosmopolitans in your fendi and kick off your manolos...........ENJOY!

I love the show. It's one of the best shows ever. However, I do not love the price. Yes, the shoebox is great and cute but it is currently cheaper to buy all the series seperately. This time last year, when I purchased it from Amazon, I paid less than ??60.

Just shows what the SATC Movie can do, eh?!

Sex & The City just gets better and better, the more you watch it.
Some of the episodes are exquisite, perfect examples of the TV sit-com taken to new heights of ....yes.......ART.
The photography is as glossy and slick as the best Hollywood movies. The scripts are razor sharp. The actresses are totally believable, and extremely skilled comediennes.
All in all, I can safely say S&TC is so much more than a tv-series, it is a way of life, a philosophy, a way of looking at life, a humour which never leaves you flat......what am I saying, that SEX & THE CITY is a religion?
Well, let's just say that anyone who does not love it, could not possibly be a friend of mine, gay or straight, male or female!!!!!!
