I thought these episodes were better than most of series 1 and 2, generally more interesting. Exception: The rock star child kidnap episode was truly dreadful.
Rupert Penry-Jones as Adam Carter is ; in my opinion, better than Mat MacFadayen ever was.

Season 3 starts off with the reemergence of Tom who we last saw wading into the sea at the end of season 2. Tom is adamant he's been set up and is on a quest to prove his innocence but his betrayal has shaken MI5 and the Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee sees his chance to seize control of MI5.

There's the usual round of problems for the Spooks in season 3 - terrorists, assassination attempts, hostage taking etc. But the biggest change we see in season 3 is the introduction of new faces and the exit of old faces. I was sorry to see so many changes but loved the episodes involved as they were typical edge-of-your-seat episodes. Yet again Spooks had me hooked but left me begging for more at the end of episode 10!

I loved this series, with the exception of the rock star episode. I watched the final two last night and was stunned by the quality and ingenuity. Not giving anything away, the exits of several main characters are brilliantly handled throughout. The final episode had me on the edge of my seat one minute, then nearly in tears the next. Fantastic - the BBC are to be congratulated.

1* for the packaging though - there should be a episode overview too so you don't put the wrong DVD in adadvertantly and have to go through the rather tedious opening sequence only to find it wasn't the one you wanted.

This series brought to us by BBC is fully packed of unexpected advents. The outline of the series is a hard one to work out and each episode is a real cliff hanger. It shows you what our government is up to and provides a visual of what we expect the MI5 to do. But rather it just be a visual in our head they have made a fantasic visual for us to sit and watch. This drama packed series, is one you must see. It doesn't matter how many times you see it the action still gets better.

Well, it was always a risk getting a new team in and seeing as everyone has got so used to the original team. It wakes a while to get used to new characters, but I think they have done it well here. The new team are likable but the mind does have difficulty adapting at first.
The first half of the series is a bit rocky, but as soon as the Adam character is fully immersed in the [spooks] world, it begins to gain momentum. I look forward to seeing Season 4 on DVD as I only saw two episodes when it was on TV.
