I found this rather an odd game to be playing in the 21st century.
As soon as the game loaded, the distinctly pre-millenium graphics were an immediate disappointment.
The games' format was equally dated.
The puzzles were OK - but felt as if I'd solved them before in another game.
The story was average - and the characters didn't make you feel as if you cared about them at all.
I know the game developers aim these games at 13 year old boys - but WHAT was the physiology of Martin's wife about??
She couldn't have stood up without a zimmer to support her - or she would have fallen flat on her face.
Did her chest have to be THAT big?
And as for her non existent skirt - for goodness sake!
I played until the end - but there was never a feeling of achievment as you moved to a new scenario after solving a puzzle.
I found it very pedestrian and plodding.
I gave it an overall of 2 stars simply because it was a new point'n'click - and keeping the genre going. It won't make any converts though.

Since I bought this game for 10p at a car boot, I really can't complain about it. And the game is quite slick in some ways. Poor English lets it down repeatedly with spelling and grammar incorrect. It's the linear nature of the game that is much poorer than say a Nancy Drew where at least you would be able to do 4 or 5 things in any order before getting to a bottleneck. We're practically back to how early adventures were in the 80's, with the "I can't do that" message.

I was one of the lucky one. Understand by this that I installed and started the game without any problem (believe me a lot of people weren't that lucky!). However my luck stops here. I had the first bug after about 30 seconds when I had to perform the first action (pick up the phone). The computer froze and the cursor disappeared. Game over for me. I read in many forums that this game is full of bugs so don't waste your time and money. Very frustrating.

I quite enjoyed this game. I enjoyed it because it worked, because it did not look awful and because there weren't many other games out that I could have played instead. It is a bit 'by the book' gamewise. If you are a dedicated adventure gamer you will know what I mean by that. Worth buying and playing it second hand.

Given the awful messes that were Moment of Silence and Broken Sword 3, this is quite commendable. True, it's no The Longest Journey, but it's enjoyabe and atmospheric. Don't be put off by the negative review above. It's right in many ways, but there is enjoyment to be had in this game.
