Amazon.co.uk Review

In these days of endless sequel after sequel it's quite a surprise to find out that a successful series like Jak & Daxter is coming to an end of its publisher's own volition. But--although the characters may well appear again in some other form--Jak IIImarks the end of the epic storyline that is now over three years in the making.

The first Jak & Daxter game was a fairly straightforward Rare-esque platformer, but the second game expanded the concept considerably to become a sort of cartoon style Grand Theft Auto. This third game removes some of the more unnecessary diversions of Jak II to become a more enjoyably focused action adventure. The actual story follows on directly and sees Jak and Daxter banished to the Wastelands--a massive game world more than five times the size of Haven City from the last game.

Although they are less prevalent than last time there are a dozen different vehicles to pilot and plenty of upgradeable weapons. Perhaps the most important new gameplay feature though is Jak's new light eco form, to balance out the dark eco powers from Jak II. In light eco form Jak grows a pair of angelic wings and gains the power to regain lost health and even freeze enemies in time (and yes, it does work a bit like bullet time).

For fans of the series, or those just looking for a fun, modern-thinking platformer, this series is definitely going out on a high. --David Jenkins

Well, I played this for about 2 minutes at a friend's house and I got bored. I was playing the ridiculous gladiator level at the beginning and this random purple electricity came along and Jac suddenly was suspended in mid-air then some lava came through the ground then Jac did a weird dance and died.
I did warn you... NEVER play this game.

Well I have to say that at the moment this is the best game I've played so far. The Jak trilogy has been magnificent. Jak is banished to the wasteland and has to fight to get back to Haven City to find that Haven are losing the war. Metal Heads and Kg fronts seem to be working together and are disposing of all Haven's defences. There is a new feature in light Jak which includes health regeneration, time freeze, shield and flying. At the end Daxter turns out to be a precursor. All the trademark humour is there and smart ass Daxter comments are still there.

Let me just put this in simple words. Jak 3 is the best jak game ever and i'll explain it in full detail now. Basically from the last game (Jak 2: renegade) Jak has been kicked out of Haven city into a wasteland because of his behaviour with the dark powers. He is later found in the game by wastelanders who rescue him. The game introduces new characters, Jak's father!
You receive twelve weapons in the game, a jet board, light jak which i'll come onto in a minute, new vehicles and new dark jak powers.
Light Jak is the opposite to dark jak. In light jak there are four powers you can use. The first, regeneration which heals you. Second, a shield which protects you temporarily from attacks. Third, flying/gliding. The third power is a sort-of flying and gliding. You fly to start off with then you glide for a bit. The fourth power i cannot remember; however purchase this game and you'll find out.
You're probably wondering why i didn't rate this five stars instead of four. The point is, it's really easy. This game is a bit more easier than Jak 2:renegade. If you played this game non-stop without failing any missions it would take you approximately one day to complete but if you like easy games this is the game for you.
Thanks for reading!

3 years ago, we were introduced to a bloke named Jak and a ugly dude named Daxter, i played Jak and Daxter: the precursor legacy and to be honest, i found it a bit of an eye opener as to how boring certain games are!

then Jak 2 came out, i played and completed the game, i was amazed, what an improvement from the previous snoze fest! Then the ultimate conclusion sequel hit the shelves, Jak 3.

Banished to the wasteland for crimes against the people of haven city (currently under attack by enemy forces.) Jak stumbles onto the lost city of Spargus, Jak and Daxter uncover a fiendish plot to desroy the world. You might think, "What a scam!" but play the game, then just see if you can say it again. This game boasts an all new vehicle concept as a wastelander named Kleiver allows you to use some of special, extremly well armed desert terrain vehicles. Not only do you get the 4 old weapons from the previous game, but you can aquire monsterous upgraded versions of them. Example... peace maker, Mass inverter and the Super nova! You can get up to 12 weapons in the game. Not to mention your biggest weapon, yourself. Those who played Jak 2 will know that Jak has an evil companion, named DARK JAK! As you play as dark Jak, you can use 4 different powers with him, they are: The dark bomb, the spin shock, invisability and the dark pummel! Also, slow down time, replenish healh, form energy sheilds and even fly! Simply by playing as the all new light Jak! If you complete the game, don't think it's all over. Embark on a new quest by playing hero mode. Hero mode allows you to play a harder version of the game from the start while keeping all of your weapons and armour upgrades! Thats my view, whats yours!?

It is Nothing like the other two, with new characters and some old faces. There are new settings but there is still haven city.
