Twin sisters get pulled into the lost village, an experiene which will change their lives forever. Gone are the days when survival horror meant men and women with heavy weaponry. These girls are armed with just one weapon an ancient mysterious camera known as the camera obscura.

This is a seriously good game and a welcome addition to the project zero series. The graphics are excellent, the soundtrack pleasing to the ears and the gameplay and storyline are immense.

Like the first game the storyline is deep and interesting. Overall this is a superb game and should rightfully be awarded five stars. Well worth it.

I adore horror survival, and I adored the first game, but was disappointed in the massive difficulty level mid way through. I just can't finish that game.

anyway, the sequel made up for all the faults of the original, brilliant everything, story, pace, gameplay, better difficulty levels.

Made me jump even at the end, amazing.

I can't say more!

When people say ohhhh a scary game you have to question what exactly are they afraid of - rising house prices, their previous nights date still alseep in your bed , their shadow....But after playing this game I know what they mean. Its not so much as scary as very very very jumpy....Its a brilliant game that given the right atomsphere.i.e lights off,alone.. it can really get your heart racing as you have no idea what could happen next.
You play/start with 2 sisters (as most japanese horror films do..and suprise, suprise dressed as coming from school)Mayu and Mio walking home they spot red butterflies floating towards a path of an adandoned village. One sister disappears and you start learning of the dark twisted history this village has. The storys good very good... pretty easy to follow considering the possiblity of it going on a japanese tangent as most films do.
Your weapon ..is the old faithful camera, See they believe that spirits are your soul and are always around but to capture or rather kill a evil one you must catch them on film thus releasing their spirit.
The camera can be upgradable and has various attachments to make it stronger and more powerful.
You can upgrade by the quality of the photo you take of said spirit. Now bear in mind that most key shots result inbeing 2ft away from the spirit its not an easy takes when it wants to kill you.
The graphics are brilliant - moody, has a fogging effect and the brilliance of the light shadowing are a wonder to behold.
But what really makes this game is the sounds/music. this really sends shivers down your spine. Its the brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.. of the rumble feature and the harsh sound that alerts you to an evil spirit nearby..the mounting suspense of it chasing you is hightened and you become so aware of that anything can come flying out the wall at anytime.!

With extra pictures to take and a 2nd play option(again suprise suprise different costumes for the main characters) it really is a longish game that deserves to be played. I recommend this as its far better than Project Zero 1, but I thinks its on par with Project Zero 3. If you like playing it would also recommend forbidden siren 1/2 not as spiritually minded but no less scary or suspenseful.

Rather than boring you with the plot (which you can read from the product description), I'll just give you a summary of my ratings and key points on the critical elements of the game:

Graphics: 8 / 10

+ Dark, nightmarish surroundings work effectively to create a sense of unease whilst exploring.
+ 'Good' looking ghosts will scare the life out of you.

Sound: 9 / 10

+ Ambient, eerie sounds designed to scare you, you'll feel your heart jump when certain sounds are played.

Gameplay: 7 / 10

+ Original combat system is refreshingly original in this series, and sets it apart from its peers.
- The ghosts can be a tad frustrating when they disappear and reappear right next to you.
- Some backtracking, never mind.

Value: 10 / 10

+ These days it can be picked up for as little as a tenner or even less, second hand. If you haven't played it yet it's well worth it.

Tilt: 9 / 10

+ It is just the scariest game I've ever played, what more could you want from a survival horror game?

Overall : 9 / 10

+ Yep overall it's a great package, nice presentation, disturbing story will keep you hooked, and did I mention it's really scary???

This game is one of the scariest experiences you'll ever have. If you thought Resident Evil or Silent Hill were frightening, they pale into comparison when compared to the frights you get in this game. It's not on a par with what I consider to be the single greatest game ever created, namely Resident Evil 4 on the Game Cube. Having said that though this plays a different game, less all out action and more ( much much more ) horror.

Enjoy it, if you can!!!
