This DVD features a compilation featuring Laurel and Hardy which was originally released by Simitar Video in 1990.
The actual program runs a scant 44 minutes and features clips from Laurel and Hardy films that are all from the public domain (mainly Be Big and The Flying Deuces). Picture quality can only be described as poor.
The film narration is boring and adds nothing to the Laurel and Hardy legend. This is just another example of a company using the Laurel and Hardy name to sell a poorly produced documantary.
The DVD follows a whole series of disappointing Laurel and Hardy DVD's from other producers and it seems ashame that Laurel and Hardy have not had a really decent documentary made about them like Kevin Brownlow did for Chaplin, Keaton and Lloyd.
My advice is to avoid this DVD unless you really want everything available featuring Laurel and Hardy.
The good news is that most of Laurel and Hardy's classic films are shortly to be released in a 21 disc DVD box set - this will be much more worth while and Laurel and Hardy fans should save there money for this instead.
