The Norman Wisdom Collection also has four brand-new audio commentaries from Norman Wisdom himself, in conversation with film historian Robert Ross. The four films with commentary are: "Trouble in Store" (1953), "On the Beat" (1962), "A Stitch in Time" (1963) and "The Early Bird" (1965). All the discs come with a trailer and English subtitles as standard.

NORMAN WISDOM is a genius. As a dyed in the wool movie buff it fell on me when I first saw FOLLOW A STAR on television. I bought everything available on VHS. In 35mm,I only saw THE GIRL ON THE BOAT. I paid 100 pounds when the 12 DVDs were released and I don't regret it. I regret that it was without commentary by NM. I think that the greatest one is THE EARLY BIRD. The PRISM edition of THE GIRL ON THE BOAT is quite good and the movie is outstanding, I was worried as a WODEHOUSE fanatic can be.
NM is still great as appearing in LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE.
I don't have to say anymore. It's self evident to British movie buffs and general public. Thank you Sir Norman!

I have bought The Norman Wisdom Collection because I want to show my Grandchildren aged 7 and 6, What my Mum and Dad showed my brother and myself at the Cinema in our days,[the 1950`s]We all came out feeling great.Now I have had my Dad aged 84,My Father-inlaw aged 88,My wife,My Daughter,My Grandchildren watching Norman on our TV,It is great to see all the Laughter and tears of Laughter in our house.It is Great.The best drug on the Market.Thank you Sir Norman.

Would not hesitate to recommend this box set. Have seen 10 out of 12 of the set and laughed so much.. I recommend them if you like Norman Wisdom, well you must do or you wouldn't be reading these reviews. You won't regret buying especially at this silly price.

I am back in '50's England when things were simple, films entertained and didn't need a "message" or have a huge budget, with actors with equally huge egos, shot with film so one takes were the order of the day, but these were consumate pros who knew their craft. Wisdom is surely one of our national treasures, and a better actor than some of the vehicles on this disc.

norman wisdom/pitkin/shields...whichever character he is playing, norman has kept me in stitches for as long as i can remember. im 20 years old and since being a young child my sister and dad have watched every single film over and over again. none of the laughter has ever run out and he still continues to have me in stitches every single time. i would definitely recommend this box set to anyone who is already a fan or wants to know why he is a comedy favourite of so many. "A Stitch in Time", "On the Beat" and "Up in the World" (a.k.a the window cleaner one!) are amongst my favourites but seriously, they are all the work of a truly legendary comic genius. enjoy....
