Whilst any Kiefer fan, and believe me I am one, will really enjoy both his acting and the style with which he directs each of the characters into our lives. Vincent Gallo, who plays the leader of this unfortunatly group of robbers, highjackers and killers - does much to make this this movie the gem it is.
Just out of prison and keen to do one big job and retire, Vincent Gallo (Raymond) enlists the help of his trusted, albeit short tempered friend Keifer Sutherland (Curtis). Their "easy money" robbery goes from bad to worse when an under cover cop gets killed. Leaving our two buddys along with Raymonds girlfriend (Kim Dickens) and the forth member of the team (Mykelti Williamson) on the run. On most days a dead cop, a need to dump their car, taking 2 hostages and their continued fighting, would be bad enough - but to top it all they discover that the "easy money" they have stollen belongs to the Mob. I dont want to spoil it anymore, as this really is not your normal run of the mill road/gangster movie. You really do deserve to watch this one, here in the UK it was given an 18 clasification, which is about right. The direction is superb, I look forward to many more Keifer Sutherland directed movies. The acting is emotionally charged, with each character pulling you into understanding if not nearly cheering them on to make it through this ride. The interaction between our 4 anti heros and their hostages leaves you trying to second guess the outcome. The cops are eager for a result and hot on the trail of Vincent and his gang, closely followed by the Mob. The ending is very well done and not at all predictable.
Do yourself a favour - watch this one....
