Amazon.co.uk Review

Actor Kiefer Sutherland makes his directorial debut with Truth or Consequences NM, a ho-hum film about a threadbare subject: a drug heist that goes badly, resulting in the bad guys having to kidnap two people and the ensuing complications. A fine cast assures good performances all around, but it's hard to go down this narrative road for the umpteenth time in the 90s. One bonus is the presence of Kim Dickens, an interesting actress who started becoming more visible in films in 1997 and 1998 (Zero Effect, Great Expectations). The DVD release has optional full-screen and widescreen presentations, optional French and Spanish soundtracks and subtitles, and theatrical trailer. --Tom Keogh, Amazon.com

i myself disagree with the norm on this film. the plot is incouraging, gallo is once again exceptional, my quarms with the film come in the form of the police insider (the HOMEBOY) from at least 10 mins into the film you can spot him, at first i put it down to poor acting but in my opinion the script is just generally flawed and in my opinion the he is victim to rather harsh stereotyping.
Sutherland makes a fair attempt at this movie and overall its not a go ot of your way to see movie, but if it were on film four watch it for vincent gallo-If your a gallo fan steer towards one of his directorial creations: Buffalo 66 etc

This is a fantastic film and well-deserves being re-released on video. Kiefer is great but the star of the film, in my opinion, is Vincent Gallo. After watching this film I wanted to watch everything he had done, and from the other films I've seen him in, he gets better all the time. Buy the vid - it's fantastic.

Kiefer Sutherland again takes to the directors chair in this fast paced, oddly dark, yet full of one liners rollercoaster road movie.

Whilst any Kiefer fan, and believe me I am one, will really enjoy both his acting and the style with which he directs each of the characters into our lives. Vincent Gallo, who plays the leader of this unfortunatly group of robbers, highjackers and killers - does much to make this this movie the gem it is.

Just out of prison and keen to do one big job and retire, Vincent Gallo (Raymond) enlists the help of his trusted, albeit short tempered friend Keifer Sutherland (Curtis). Their "easy money" robbery goes from bad to worse when an under cover cop gets killed. Leaving our two buddys along with Raymonds girlfriend (Kim Dickens) and the forth member of the team (Mykelti Williamson) on the run. On most days a dead cop, a need to dump their car, taking 2 hostages and their continued fighting, would be bad enough - but to top it all they discover that the "easy money" they have stollen belongs to the Mob. I dont want to spoil it anymore, as this really is not your normal run of the mill road/gangster movie. You really do deserve to watch this one, here in the UK it was given an 18 clasification, which is about right. The direction is superb, I look forward to many more Keifer Sutherland directed movies. The acting is emotionally charged, with each character pulling you into understanding if not nearly cheering them on to make it through this ride. The interaction between our 4 anti heros and their hostages leaves you trying to second guess the outcome. The cops are eager for a result and hot on the trail of Vincent and his gang, closely followed by the Mob. The ending is very well done and not at all predictable.

Do yourself a favour - watch this one....
