Amazon.co.uk Review

Now's your chance to take the red pill for real and Enter The Matrix--not simply a video game adaptation of the films but a whole new chapter in the Matrix saga. Indeed, the best thing about Enter The Matrix is the way it seamlessly connects with the three films, for although it's based on none of them directly, it allows you to play the role of either Niobe or Ghost (minor characters from The Matrix Reloaded) while running into the likes of Neo, Morpheus and Agent Smith as the game's story unfolds. Not only that but the story, as well as all the exclusive video footage, is written and directed by the films' creators, the Wachowski brothers.

The game itself is, somewhat predictably, a third-person shoot-'em-up not at all dissimilar to a more balletic version of Max Payne. It's somewhat surprising though, for such a high-profile game, to find the graphics are actually a little below par and the controls somewhat clunky, but generally it all looks and plays pretty well with all the classic Matrix-style slow-motion acrobatics relatively easy to pull off.

Easily the best bits of the game are the on-foot chase sequences, usually involving agents, which are actually rather tense and a great way to show off all the running and leaping powers you've mastered in the rest of the game. The worst bits are the car chases, especially if you play as Niobe and have to put up with the terrible car handling, instead of just hanging out the window and shooting as Ghost. Still, this is a decent game overall which, although unlikely to win any awards in itself, is sure to please most Matrix fans. --David Jenkins

An OK side-story to the main plot but now that Path of Neo is out I recommend you buy that instead. If you've already completed Path of Neo and haven't got this then give it a go but don't blame me if you're disappointed.

This is an alright game but if you had the choice of getting Path of Neo or enter the matrix get Path of Neo.

Started off very good. Loved the moves and the story like in the movie. Graphics were... sumwhat ok, abit shabby. Nice somersaults and jump kicks, and majorly popular time slow. Yes, the famous time slowing allowing dodging of bullets as well as watching a slow motion of you beating the crap out of the armed personel around you. Very good game until you reach a certain point whereas the are no other different moves you can do.
There are no new skills you can aquire. The game gets very repetitive, especially when you completed it once already. Well.. to be honest you get bored of every game later on, so I can't really judge this game on that. I would say pretty good and a reccomendation if you liked the matrix movies. I don't guarentee anything though.

Oh i was excited about this game, damm i was excited when i played it. Now i've seen the story of the game its safe to say the gameplays buggy and i shall never play it again. But it was fun while it lasted.
Not a terrible game, but a game which was rushed in ganeplay production and it feels it.

I've read some of the reviews about this game, mostly the ones
which have been rated below 3 stars...
Okay, I agree, the graphics are not up to scratch, it doesn't
challenge your hand-eye coordination much and you will complete the game in 8 hours or less, BUT what game allows you to run up walls, dodge bullets (I know, I know. Max Payne has got the bullet time, but can he run up walls?), doing a cartwheel whilst shooting multiple enemies and taking on several SWAT members (sometimes as much as 8 at a time!) , with your Kung Fu moves!
You will also get the chance to test your skills against Seraph (Oracle's guardian) and Trinity, which was a bit different.

If you like puzzle solving, using-your-brain games, avoid this one, but if you're a martial arts fan and just looking for good uncomplicated action, buy this game.
