Amazon.co.uk Review

For the first few minutes of The Hotpants Workout you might think you've tuned into Top of the Pops, as female dancers in skimpy, shimmery--yep you guessed it--hotpants dance around. Choreographer to the stars Dan Karaty maintains that Kylie and Britney have fantastic bodies thanks to dance. But the opening case study of a real dancer who had to get her figure back after a period of inactivity due to illness is unnecessary. It's only once the charming Karaty goes into the workout that there is no doubt he knows how to put across his point: dance is indeed a fun way to get a good body.

The session is divided into six sections which target legs, thighs, burning fat, waist, abs and glutes. "Bounce" features a sexy bounce move, "Slide" is based on a sexy slide from leg to leg, "Rush" is a fast fun section, and by the time you reach the slower "Groove" section you might kid yourself that you're just steps away from looking like Karaty's confident back-up dancers. "Two Step" is the hardest of the six sections in terms of coordination, but it's not impossible. The only disappointing section is the final cooldown. It's not as fun as the rest, and the addition of abs and glutes might complete the fitness aspect but doesn't gel with the rest of the up-beat funky workout. Not for serious fitness fanatics but undeniably fun--and it'll do wonders for your dance-floor cred. --Lorna V

This is a good beginners workout once you learn the moves. It warms you up and then gives a good workout, and the abs exercises are quite good. I would say watch the tape through once or twice so you can get the hang of the moves before going for it.
It will keep your mind engaged as you have to concentrate to get the moves right, so it is an excellent dvd to get you motivated to exercise more as you wont get bored.
There isnt that much cardio work, so you wont quite get the hotpants look, but it is a great motivational tool, and not all the dancers in it are as skinny as the bum on the front either, which is nice!

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this dvd. I chose it based on the dozens of positive reviews it has recieved on here. I was not dissapointed. The workout is fun because you get to have a go at some dance moves like the kind you see in pop videos. I consider myself to have low-average amounts of co-ordination and I did find 50% of the moves quite hard to follow but after a few goes of the whole routine you do get the hang of it. I don't think it matters if you're not doing the moves perfectly, as long as you keep up with the tempo and keep your heart rate up you're still burning calories! To sum up I would recommend this dvd. It is the sort of thing i'd only ever attempt in my own front room (I would be too embarassed to try proper 'cool' dance moves at an exercise class!). The routine is accesible to all fitness levels and it's not too difficult. It's just the sort of workout you could do every day as it doesn't completely kill you each time you do it!

This film is divided into six mini routines:

Bounce (a bootylicious warm up for butts and thighs set to a hip hop beat)
Slide (cool side steps that focus on your inner and outer thighs)
Rush (brings on the fat burning with some high energy pop)
Groove (put the slow burn on your waist and hips)
Two Steps (gives your thighs the message with some freaky footwork)
Abs And Butt-Ups (deliver a sexy six-pack and the perfect bum)

Given the time this film deserves, the perfect beach body might be within reach for anyone.

anything with dan karaty i cant get enough of. i have an issue with motivation also, being the only one in the family that is into dancing and fitness, but when you put a gorgeous talented choreographer like dan karaty, i cant wait to see him everyday! just him alone gets my heart rate up! this workout is so much fun and those are the ones you get the best results from, because you dont realize your working out! thanks dan your the best! i love you!!

I was very disapointed after buying this dvd! It hardly gets your heart rate going, it is hard to believe that the story of the girl at the start of the video actually lost weight just due to doing this dvd! The dance moves are way too hard to learn! and that put me off it alot, not being good at learning things quickly. This DVD would only apply to people who can learn dances easily, perhaps ex dancers and who want a mild form of exercise.
The trainer Dan KAraty or whatever his dance is so cheesy at the start it had me cringing haha!
i don't belive Kylie and Britney Spears got their body from doing some of the moves in his video as he states!
i don't really like the music aswel!
