Well i have played all the Tom Clancy games from the first rainbow six and I still love playing them, but this game is different, I have played the game all the way through on the American side and the Local side, and both are great, it was hard to get out of the habit of doing the same thing everytime you got killed, if it did not work the first time try something different ! It was great fun, even the part where I wandered around trying to get back to my own lines to get picked up. Its good to be able to control all the different equipments and troops of them as well. Some people wont like it, well play the games you do like. Have a nice day !

Like other reviewers have said you can wander anywhere you like on operation flashpoints huge maps no invisible walls here! The greatest open warfare simulator the world has seen though it is an ageing game in both the graphics and multiplayer setup department.The pc version has sold 1.5 million copies so you can see it does not deserve the awful scores given by two other reviewers, if as I suspect they are in to flashy graphics and fps frenetic gameplay then they merely purchased the wrong game.They should try reading reviews before they purchase! Or even read the box!I'm always suspicious of bad reviews where the reviewer uses words like loser and worst game ever,they obviously have a limited vocabulary.ie GOOD OR BAD, BLACK AND WHITE not in fact a review but an ill informed opinion!Until Armed Assault for the pc comes out any version of flashpoint is worth buying if you have patience and some intelligence.The only drawback I found with this game is having to use the x-box contoller which takes a lot more time to master than a keyboard and mouse.Wonderful clever enemys to fight in an open combat zone ,tanks to drive,Choppers to fly theres nothing to match the exhilaration of your first tank or chopper kill with a hand held rocket.IF you like hardcore games buy it, this game is not for the faint of heart or small children but is the best!

I THANKFULLY BOUGHT THIS GAME 2ND HAND, PAID AROUND ??8 FOR IT AND I`M GLAD THAT WAS ALL I PAID! THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE WORST GAMES I HAVE HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF PLAYING! I OWN THE ORIGINAL GHOST RECON AND ITS FAR SUPERIOR TO THIS GAME CONSIDERING HOW LONG AGO GHOST RECON WAS RELEASED. THE WORDS "FALSE ADVERTISING" SPRING TO MIND, ALONG WITH POOR GRAPHICS (REAL POOR). THIS GAME IS SET IN THE COLD WAR ERA-AN IT SEEMS THE MID EIGHTIES IS WHEN THE GAME WAS DESIGNED. WOULD HAVE LOOKED GOOD ON 48K SPECTRUM?!! CONSIDERED BREAKING THE DISC IN TWO AND RETURNING IT TO THE MAKERS.

Ok, many people have played the PC version (which I love) and the XBox conversion is a pretty good effort. The control system using the XBox controller is never going to be as fluid as a mouse and keyboard, but you get used to it - just give it time and practise.
Many peolple who like FPS shooters complain that this is boring, crap etc but they miss the point. OFP never was like other arcade-ish FPS rehashed clones of each other. It takes more effort but has more depth and rewards much more in the end.
The graphics are adequate, no more, no less but do not detract from the gameplay. The audio effects are quite good but improved considerably if you hook up to an AV amp or decent HiFI system.
Overall I am very impressed by this game after being disappointed by other FPS and 'war' games. If you feel the same, try this little gem. It requires more thought, tactics and effort but ultimately gives a more satisfying experience for the armchair commandos out there.
Finally sorry for the long winded review but the game deserves a good mention. Buy it!

However if you are looking for some realsim and you dont mind having to think from time to time compared generic a to b gameplay then grab Operation Flashpoint. Now !
