Amazon.co.uk Review

In the second volume of Friends Series 8, the next stage of Rachel's pregnancy is coping with everyone else's reactions and expectations. Immediately in "The One with Rachel's Date" we learn that Ross can't distinguish between father and friend. While their relationship grows ever more complicated, Phoebe just can't sit still as she moves from an infatuation with a sous-chef to her twin sister's fianc?? (guest star Sean Penn). "The One with the Halloween Party" is when they meet, making for typically daft fun with the gang in costume: Monica is Catwoman, Phoebe is Supergirl, Chandler is The Velveteen Rabbit, Ross is Spudnik and Joey is Chandler! Penn's cameo continues into "The One with the Stain": while Rachel prays for an old lady to kick the bucket so she can get her apartment, Monica is concerned about the Maid she arranged. But that's nothing compared to her concerns over "The One with the Stripper" that she inadvertently arranges for Chandler! Highlights of this volume include meeting Rachel's explosive father, seeing her hand out cheques instead of candy at Halloween and learning why Chandler should be called Muriel instead of Toby. --Paul Tonks

The one with Rachel's date:
Ross is horrified to learn that Rachel, pregnant with his child, is headed out on a date with a handsome actor, while phoebe protests when Monica wants to fire a cute but clumsy sous-chef whom she fancies. Elsewhere, chandler stops the promotion of a distant co-worker who's mistakenly been calling him "Toby" for five years.

The one with the Halloween party:
At Monica's Halloween party, phoebe meets the fianc?? of her twin sister Ursula and finds herself attracted to him as well. Elsewhere at the shindig, Monica comes disguised as catwoman and wonders if she could take down phoebe's supergirl character, while chandler arrives as a bunny and mistakes Ross' giant hybrid "spud-nik" costume for something found on the sidewalk. In addition, Rachel runs out of candy and resorts to paying trick-or-treaters.

The one with the stain:
Ross learns that pregnant Rachel wants to move out and find her own place and suggests a vacancy in his building. However, Joey gives Ross tough competition when he puts a nursery in their apartment in an attempt to make her stay.
Meanwhile, phoebe is ecstatic when Eric dumps her twin sister Ursula and chooses her instead, and Monica suspects that her new maid is stealing from her.

The one with the stripper:
On learning of Rachel's pregnancy, her father decides to comfort Ross in his apartment - just as he begins to snuggle up with his new girlfriend Mona. Meanwhile, Monica feels guilty for denying a stripper for his bachelor party so she dials one up for his enjoyment.

Although this is the weakest video of the three released, it is still good, and typically of friends very watchable.TOW Rachel's date is probably the best episode of the four as it deals with rachel's pregnancy and how Ross is coping with her news, particularly in a moving conversation with Joey. It also is important in building up to the final episode of volume 3, as all hope and Ross and Rachel getting back together goes and Joey grows closer to Rachel especially in TOW the stain( Joey just gets sweeter)

Episodes 5-8 include: The One With Rachel's Date, The One With The Halloween Party, The One With The Stain and The One With The Stripper. After the tense unmasking of the baby's father the next four episodes loose nothing in pace. They see Rachel dating one of Joey's co-stars, the return of Phoebe's twin, Ursula, Monica hiring her new husband a stripper, Ross dressing up as Spudnik, and the exposure of Chandler's middle name!
All the episodes are laugh a minute and up to the normal Friends standard.
If you are a long time Friends fan I strongly recommend you buy this title, however if you are just getting into the sitcom I suggest you buy the earlier episodes as they tend to be funnier and don't have the potential to put you off this very worth while comedy.--Adam Bardsley
You *have* to buy this un-missable DVD! - Reviewed on 2002-03-09

This is another un-missable DVD from "friends". Season 8 is creating a "come-back" for the show after the last couple of seasons and has gone back to its unbelievable charm and charisma of the first 5 seasons. The characters of Rachel and Joey in particular are seen in a new light in this brand new series. I particularly recommend "the one with the stripper" which was so hilarious it had me on the edge of my seat laughing the whole way through!!!!
